The Chillicothe Hornets will be searching for a new head football coach for the 2026 season following Chad Smith’s announcement that he is stepping down. Smith, who led the program to a 28-28 record from 2021 through 2025, cited personal health and a desire to spend more time with his family as the reasons for his departure. Before taking the helm, Smith served as an assistant coach for the Hornets for seven years and spent time on the coaching staff at Hamilton.
