A 17-year-old male from Oak Grove died Thursday night after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 70 in Jackson County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the teen had fled his vehicle during a traffic stop initiated by Independence Police and ran across the highway lanes. He was struck by a westbound SUV and pronounced dead at the scene.
