The St. Joseph City Council has voted to equip the police department with new drone technology while also approving a pay raise for officers. The city will enter a five-year agreement for six new drones designed to provide rapid video feeds to law enforcement and firefighters before they arrive at an emergency scene. Additionally, the council authorized a six percent salary increase for the department to help improve recruitment and remain competitive with other agencies.
