The St. Joseph City Council has reviewed a bill to authorize a nearly $1.9 million project to relocate waste at the city landfill. The contract involves moving waste from an area known as “Trash Mountain,” which was used for temporary storage after another cell filled faster than expected. According to the Public Works Director, this relocation will move the waste to the newly completed Cell 8. City officials state that passing the bill will bring the landfill into compliance with state regulations and avoid potential fines.
