The St. Joseph Parks and Recreation Department is currently working on 18 active projects, with significant renovations underway at John Lucas Park and Krug Park. The department’s focus is on improving accessibility and creating more welcoming spaces to boost community use. Among the largest projects are the enhancements at Krug Park’s historic castle, which are expected to be finished by 2027 or 2028. Officials also note that a new maintenance facility is being planned to support the anticipated increase in park visitors.
